My Faith Story – Gisela Rivera

Ipic 62

Seek and ye shall find!  Growing up I was not raised in the church. I did not know much about God.  There came a time in my life when my sins had caught up with me and I felt very low and extremely hopeless for my future.  Ironically enough, my first instinct was to go into a church in my hometown and pray; not sure why I was gravitating toward church.  I followed those instincts and went inside a church in my hometown, not knowing what to expect or what was to come.  I realize now that God was preparing me to meet Him a short time later.

Soon after my husband and I moved to Fort Knox, KY.  Two years later, I met a Christian lady and she invited me to the First Assembly in Radcliff.  I was so excited since I had been wanting to go to church for a while, but didn’t want to go alone.  For the next three plus years, I attended the church there and was baptized in the titles and filled with Holy Ghost (not really understanding much about the Holy Ghost).

In June of 1995, we moved back to Germany where I was invited by a neighbor to an Apostolic Pentecostal Church. There I learned about the baptism in Jesus Name and the importance of being filled with the Holy Ghost.  I was baptized in the name of Jesus after a few months and refilled with the Holy Ghost.

Since then my life has never been the same!  I praise God for saving me.  I could not imagine where I would be had I not turned my life over to Him, and allowed Him to guide and lead me in the way I needed to go.  I am so thankful and full of joy that I get to be part of the family of God. He has truly blessed me!  God will be there for you, just as He was for me.  God is FAITHFUL to meet you, when you seek after Him!
